Workspace & emergency alerts

Arrange your toolbar around your work, and use the practice Panic button to ask signed-in teammates for immediate help.

4.12Your toolbar

Choose and order your top toolbar buttons

Use Customize in the top bar to open Customize toolbar. Switch buttons on or off, drag them into the order you prefer, then click Apply. Reset to defaults restores the standard set before you apply it.

Your layout is saved for your account. Only tools available to your role and practice appear in the choices. Customize stays visible even if you hide every other configurable button.

Treatment Series and Remote Patient Panel now have their own toolbar buttons. The series button appears once your practice uses series or templates and shows a badge for courses needing attention. The remote panel depends on remote monitoring being enabled and your access. If either available button is hidden, restore it through Customize.

Closing settings with a draft: settings dialogs with unsaved changes ask before discarding them when you press Esc or their footer Cancel. Save the changes you want to keep before leaving.
4.13Emergency alerts

Ask the team for immediate help with the Panic button

  1. Enable it for the practice. A practice administrator, or someone allowed to manage additional features, opens Admin → Additional Features, turns on Panic button, and clicks Save Changes. It is off by default.
  2. Send an alert. Press the red Panic toolbar button. It sends immediately, without a confirmation dialog, to teammates signed in to Hero for the practice. Your own alert card shows who is responding.
  3. Respond to an alert. Teammates see a large red Emergency alert naming the person who needs help, with a repeating alarm. It appears above open dialogs. I'm responding tells the team you are helping. Dismiss quiets it for you without ending the alert for everyone; Esc and clicking outside do not dismiss it.
  4. End it when help is no longer needed. All clear resolves the alert for the team. The sender can also end an accidental alert from their card.
  5. Set a personal shortcut if useful. Each person can hide Panic with Customize, or assign a shortcut under Settings → Hotkeys. There is no default panic shortcut; a shortcut you assign still works when you hide the button.
This alerts your team; it does not call emergency services. Sending needs a working connection. If Hero reports that the alert could not be sent, use another way to get help. An alert already received stays visible during a connection interruption until it is resolved.
